TT Full Form

The Full form for TT is the Travelling Ticket Examiner. TT examiner is an employee of the Indian railway who examines passenger tickets while traveling in trains. The group of Travelling Ticket Examiner falls under the supervision of Indian Railway Traffic service (IRTS) cadre of officers within Indian Railways. The TTE is typically dressed in a black uniform (black pants and vest) that has their names and the designation on the badge. The typical TTE is a Travelling Ticket Examiner is responsible for the supervision of around 5-6 coaches for the whole journey of short distances. In case of long distances, a new TTE takes over at different stations. The job of a TT examiners includes checking passengers' tickets for all the passengers on the coach, indicating the availability of a passenger on trains or is not available, and to secure the coaches ' doors from the inside at the night, and to provide first aid to a passenger when they have a medical emergency and to allocate seats to those in wait lists, or make a fine slip to passengers who do not have an ticket.

TT stands for Tetanus Toxoid. It is a vaccination which offers protection against the infection tetanus. Tetanus can be a serious disease of the nervous system that is caused by a bacteria known as Clostridiumtetani. The bacteria can infiltrate the body through cuts the skin, wounds, bites burns, and so on. They can affect the nervous system and can cause serious problems should they be left untreated. The symptoms that are common to this condition are convulsions muscle spasms, lockjaws stiffness, and difficulty swallowing.

The vaccine was created in the 1920s. It was successful when it was utilized in World War II to protect the US military from the tetanus virus. It is recommended for all infants, children and adults.

The TT vaccine is administered by a doctor or health professional. Some of the side reactions of this vaccine are swelling, fever, redness tenderness, soreness etc.

It is also given to pregnant women to prevent the development of neonatal tetanus. The injection creates antibodies within the mother's body that passes through to children. It protects both mother and the child from tetanus.

History:

The Antiserum of Tetanus was developed by an organization of German researchers, who were led by 'Emil Von Behring' in the year 1890. However, the Tetanus Toxoid vaccine was prepared in the year 1924. In the beginning, this vaccine was used for soldiers in war. This is WHO's one of the most vital vaccines and is considered to be the safest in the health care system.

Tetanus Causative Agent and Symptoms:

Tetanus is caused by the bacteria clostridium Tetani. It is a condition that affects the nervous system. The bacterium releases two exotoxins, one of which is a neurotoxin which causes the effects of Tetanus.

The symptoms of Tetanus begin gradually. The first sign of Tetanus is evident stiffness in the jaw( lockjaw ), with difficulty in swallowing. It is then followed by fever, headache, and an increase of heart rate. The condition can progress to seizures and muscle spasms. These are the kind of behavior that typically occurs in disorders of the nervous system. The mortalityrate increases more for those in the age group 55 and above and also those who are not immunized earlier. The spasms can last over 3 weeks, and complete recovery can take up to a few months. The disease is not contagious when it comes into contact with an infected person that usually happens in the case of a virus since the causative factor of tetanus is bacteria. The infection takes place if any open wound or cut comes into contact with the bacteria and allows the ingress of the bacteria into the body. The duration of the incubation ranges from 3 to 21 days.

Effectiveness of Tetanus Toxoid:

The TT vaccine has been shown as 100% safe against the Tetanus disease, provided that the first dose of vaccine is administered. The immunization is of two kinds, active and passive. The active immunization of TT is suggested in infancy along with Diphtheria and acellular Pertussis( DTaP ) at the age of 2 months or 6 months, 15-18 months and later at 5-6 years. This dose Tdap is given between 10-12 years of age. Research has shown that the vaccine lasts longer than 10 years. The vaccination is available in the form of Quadrivalent Pentavalent, Quadrivalent, and Hexavalent formulation , which includes additional vaccines that can reduce discomfort.

Mechanism of the Vaccine:

Tetanus requires active immunization that forms artificial active immunity. The mechanism of action works through activating immunity through the injection of dead version of the disease. This causes your immune system respond and produce antibodies. This is beneficial in the latter stages of life since immunity in the human body can act immediately when the disease invades the body later by producing antibodies that recognize the antigen.

The vaccination is needed during the gestational phase as it permits the fetus to receive the antibody. The vaccination can be administered during the 26-36 week gestational period.
