The full form for TT can be described as the Travelling Ticket Examiner. TT examiners are employees of the Indian railways who checks passenger tickets on the way to and from trains. The group of Travelling Ticket Examiner falls under the supervision of the Indian Railway Traffic service (IRTS) cadre of officers within Indian Railways. The TTE typically wears a black uniform (black pants with a jacket) along with their name as well as the designation on the badge. The typical traveling Ticket Examiner is responsible for the supervision of around 5-6 coaches for the whole journey of short distances. The word TT means Tetanus Toxoid. It is a vaccination that protects against the tetanus virus. Tetanus is a severe illness of the nervous system that is caused by a bacterium called Clostridiumtetani. The bacteria can infiltrate the body via cut or wounds, bites, burns, etc. They can affect the nervous system and could cause serious problems when left untreated. The most common signs of the disease are convulsions, muscles spasms, lockjaws, stiffness, and difficulty swallowing.

The vaccine was created in the 1920s, and was an instant hit when it was used during World War II to protect the US army from Tetanus. The vaccination against tetanus is recommended for all children, infants and adults.

The TT vaccine must be administered by a doctor or health expert. The side consequences of this vaccine include swelling, fever, redness and tenderness, and so on.

The injection is also administered pregnant women to avoid the development of neonatal tetanus. It creates antibodies in the mother's body that is passed on onto the infant. It shields mother and the child from tetanus.

History:

Tetanus Causative Agent and Symptoms:

Tetanus can be caused by bacterium Clostridium Tetani. It is a condition that affects nerves. The bacterium creates two exotoxins, one of which is a neurotoxin which causes the signs of Tetanus.

The signs of Tetanus begin slowly. The first sign is obvious stiffness in the jaw( lockjaw ) and difficulty swallowing, followed by fever and headache, and an increase in heart rate. The condition can progress to seizures and muscle spasms. These are the kind of activity , which is typically seen in the nervous system when there are disorders. It is believed that the mortalityrate of the disease is higher for those in the age over 55, and those who were not immunized prior to. The spasms last for longer than three weeks, and a complete recovery could require several months. The illness is not transmitted through contact with an infected person which is usually the case when there is a virus because the cause of Tetanus is bacteria. The infection will take form if an open wound or cut is in contact with the bacteria that allows the entry of bacteria into the body. The time of incubation varies between 3 and 21 days.

Effectiveness of Tetanus Toxoid:

It is believed that the TT vaccine has been proven that it is 100% efficient against the Tetanus disease, provided that the first dose of vaccine is administered. The vaccination is offered in two kinds, passive and active. The active immunization of TT is considered in the early stages of infanthood together with Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis( DTaP ) at the age of 3 months and 6 months, as well as 15-18 months, after that at 5-6 years. A second dose of Tdap is administered between the ages of 10-12 years. Studies have proven that the vaccine is safe for more than 10 years. The vaccine is available in Quadrivalent Pentavalent, Quadrivalent, and Hexavalent formulations, along with other vaccines that can reduce discomfort.

This causes your immune system react and produce antibodies. This can be beneficial in later phases of life as your body's immune system responds immediately when the disease invades the body afterward by generating antibodies that recognize the antigen.

The vaccination is required during the gestational phase because it allows the fetus to be exposed to the antibody. The vaccination is administered between 26 and 36 weeks gestational period.
